The Q&A on partnering with Public Market Tours
Q: Who are you?
A: Public Market Tours is the official provider of the 1-hour historical tour of Pike Place Market. At least 10% of all ticket sales go to benefit the Pike Place Market Foundation. They support four social service agencies for low-income and elderly residents of downtown Seattle, including a medical center, food bank, senior center, and childcare center.
Q: We already have our tour directors walk our groups through Pike Place Market on our multi-day itineraries. How would your tour be any better than what we do for free?
- Pike Place Market can be crowded, loud, and overwhelming. While we think the sensory overload is part of the fun hustle and bustle of this thriving community, we make the obligatory visit a memorable and turnkey one!
To enrich the guest experience, each person is provided with state of the art personal audio devices. Guests never have to strain to hear, or fight to stand next to the guide. These discrete and comfortable audio devices enable guests to hang back to snap photos and take in the sights at their leisure.
- Our tour guides are past and present members of the Pike Place Market community. Their intimate knowledge enables them to take guests behind-the-scenes to learn about insider secrets and see hidden gems that even locals don’t know about.
Q: Do you pay commission or offer a net rate?
A: Yes, we pay a generous commission to certified travel agents on our products. If you are a tour operator or online distributor, please reach out to us directly for a net rate.
Q: How long is your current tariff good for?
A: Our current tariff is good through December 31, 2014. Please let us know if you would like us to send you our tariff.
Q: Do you offer private travel for FIT & Groups?
A: Yes. We have standing daily departures that you can book into. We can also work with you to customize a tour for group sizes ranging from 2 to 72 and larger groups by special request.
Q: Where do your tours depart and end? Do you offer pick up & drop off?
A: The tours meet and conclude at the entrance to Pike Place Market. Although transportation is not provided, Pike Place Market is within a 5-10 minute leisurely walk from all hotels in the downtown Seattle area.
If necessary, for Groups we can arrange for a guide to meet you at your hotel and escort your group to the start location.
Q: How do we make reservations?
A: Please call or send your FIT booking requests via phone to: 206.209.5488 or email to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please email email@example.com for private events and customized itineraries.
Q: Can we have access to live availability and book online direct?
A: Yes. If you are interested, please let us know and we will set you up with an online discount code that reflects your correct net/commission.
Q: Do you have descriptive copy for the tour?
A: Yes, on request we can send you a short description for the tour. For our respective SEO purposes, we hope that you use this copy to get your started, but please do not copy it verbatim. Otherwise, Google and other search engines will dismiss the copy because it is unoriginal.
Q: Do you have an image gallery?
A: Yes, please click here for our online gallery.
Q: What are your Terms & Conditions?
A: Full payment is due either at time of booking for FIT, or invoiced Net 30 days. For Groups, a deposit may be required to hold a specific date, time slot, and tour guides. $150.00 (1-24 people), $300.00 (25-48 people), $450.00 (49-72 people).
Deposit made by credit card will hold the date immediately. Remaining balance (non-refundable) is invoiced Net 30 days.
Q: Do your guides speak foreign languages?
A: For an additional fee, we can arrange for a foreign language guide if needed for Groups.
Q: Which Local Receptives do you work with?
